PremaTech Advanced Ceramics is a precision ceramic fabrication company located in Worcester MA that machines a variety of ceramics and hard materials. We are currently seeking engineering candidates to join our team.
Our engineering position will develop quotations for complex ceramic machined parts and support our advanced machining operations. This position requires a strong knowledge of advanced machining practices that include complex grinding, CNC machining, and other support processes.
Responsibilities include daily quotation activities along with conceptualization and implementation of creative solutions to complex machining challenges. A working knowledge of machining and grinding various materials is key along with producing small critical features on high precision components within a job shop setting. Working knowledge of GD&T, CAD/CAM, and quoting experience for a job shop are all requirements of this position. Candidates must also possess good communication skills, be able to handle multiple tasks and have good customer relation skills.
Desired Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a BS Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering degree or several years experience performing in this capacity.
A minimum of five (5) years experience in a job shop that makes high tolerance complex parts.
Must have experience with complex grinding operations.
Will have at least two (2) years experience quoting jobs in a job shop.
Will have good customer contact skills.
Will have experience with costing/pricing.
Will have experience working with vendors to obtain materials.
A working knowledge of CAD/CAM and familiarity with high tolerance inspection.
Viable candidates must be able to read and understand complex blueprints and be well versed in GD&T.
Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, AutoCAD, et al.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate at all levels of the organization.
Knowledge of ISO 9001:2000

Must have a technical education or journeyman's papers and 5 plus years of experience.
Must be willing to learn new machining techniques, able to work in a fast paced shop environment
and to setup and run a variety of machines. US citizenship is required.
